About Rachel’s Dance for the Cure

On August 30, 2018, Rachel Antorino, a beautiful fourteen year-old girl from Commack, NY lost her battle with AML leukemia. Rachel fought her battle with cancer for 20 months. She was brave, optimistic, and loved by all who knew her. In October, her mom, along with family and friends, founded Rachel’s Dance for the Cure. As dance was Rachel’s favorite activity, the foundation has decided to hold a yearly dance event in Rachel’s honor- one that would celebrate Rachel’s life and raise money to cure AML.

Rachel’s other favorite activity was camp. Rachel attended Park Shore Country Day Camp since she was very little. It was the place she was happiest, being with her camp friends and engaging in all sorts of fun summer activities. Park Shore Country Day Camp has graciously offered to host our event and to help us with the festivities.

On July 27, 2019, the National Day of Dance, Rachel’s Dance for the Cure Foundation will host its 1st annual Dance Extravaganza from 11am-3pm at Park Shore Country Day Camp.

The Rachel’s Dance for the Cure Foundation raises money to help families struggling with pediatric cancer. The burden felt by families dealing with their children’s illness and the cost of hospital expenses is overwhelming. Our mission is to raise funds to help those families in need as well as to fund the research necessary to end this devastating illness.

Rachel’s Dance for the Cure Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established on October 5, 2018. It was created in Rachel’s honor to raise awareness for pediatric cancer, help fund research for AML, and to financially assist families who have been impacted by this horrific disease.
