Dear Parents,

As I walk through the school and see all the wonderful and colorful paintings and creations that are decorating our walls, I have to stop and admire how very thankful and fortunate all of us are. Yes, there are Autumn easel paintings and falling leaves, there are teepees and pilgrims with food galore, there are collages and corn stalks waiting to be picked, but the most special is the thankful turkeys that hang on the walls.  As children grow and become more verbal and passionate about the world around them, it becomes easy for them to express their feelings. To see the Pre-K and Kindergarten children writing about their thankfulness and addressing it to family members is very endearing. The honesty and sincerity of their words is truthfulness at its best. Listening in at the three year olds circle time and sharing time is always a highlight for me. Their stories are also sincere but comical at the same time.

So, for Thanksgiving this year, I will be thankful that I am surrounded by children who have a heart full of love for family and friends. I will keep the feeling of their passion and excitement and extend my good fortune to my own family and friends. To you the parents, thank you for giving us your children who continue to teach us the simplest of values. I wish you all a very happy and thankful Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Dianne
