Dear Parents,

I can’t believe that the end of the year is already here.  It feels like yesterday that I was meeting these little people for the first time.  Watching their faces as they saw their classroom for the first time, they started learning a new routine, and following new rules.  Wow have they come a long way.

It has been quite a busy year. We have worked on letters and numbers and many other concepts along the way.  They have been singing the alphabet song every morning and I truly believe that has been a huge factor in their learning all their letter sounds (ask them to sing it to you).  Their handwriting has gotten better and so has their art work.  I can’t wait for you to see all their classbook pages to see just how far they have come.

I am so proud of each and every one of my students.  They have made such wonderful progress.  They will go to kindergarten knowing how to be responsible for their folders and backpacks, how to sit on the carpet and listen to a story or read one on their own (using pictures), they can sit for a reasonable amount of time doing work as a whole class activity, and raise their hand and contribute to a discussion or ask some questions.

I wish each of my students well as they leave the doors of Park Shore and head to the halls of their new school.  Whatever Kindergarten they are going to I know they will do amazing.

I thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend this year with your child.  It has been a pleasure to be their teacher and I hope they had as much fun as I did.

Have a happy and healthy summer!

Miss Laura
